Water-cooling the Nvidia Orin AGX: Full Kits coming soon.

Here is the new preliminary design of the cooling for the new F-5 ARC platform. Prioritizing weight and cooling without a compromise for maximum core clock performance, a custom heatsink and universal water block combo allows for lower temps than ever before on the Jetson Orin. Known to get hot for its power consumption. The OEM heatsink prevents the stock configuration to saturate the cooling performance of the stock cooler. To run longer sustained loads it is required to move heat elsewhere in the system.

Here we can see the bare PCB (printed circuit board) before and after cleaning the thermal compound. Where the Nvidia OEM Orin Heatsink was making contact with the voltage regulation modules, memory modules, and core.

A big challenge for this block is concentrating the air flow over the desired regions of the heat sinks without too much loss of cooling performance. The mass of the heatsink has been drastically reduced which means the time contestant for temperature change has drastically decreased resulting in higher CFM requirement requiring a sacrifice of acoustic performance.
