Off-Road 1/10th Scale Traxxas® Fiesta Rally Autonomous Race Car (ARC) Platform

This off-roading ARC (Autonomous Race Car) car is designed to enable AI to experience an adventure in unknown terrain.

The Jetson Xavier NX (compatible with the Nvidia® Orin NX, Xavier NX, & Jetson platforms). Visual feedback from dual IR-enabled USB cameras, with optional Intel® RealSense™ D435i & Intel® RealSense™ T265 Tracking Camera enables the car to map out unknown areas. The platform is based on the Traxxas® Fiesta Rally, a 1:10th scale rally car optimized for its off-roading capabilities.

Our integrated solution includes similar hardware from the Tamiya® TA07 ARC platform prioritizes low latency data communication protocols optimized for sensor accuracy and reliability.

Designed to prioritize driver data training feedback and sensor data speed the faster loop rates enable smoother actuation for control algorithms. Rather than open loop mapped PWM signals our PWM control is handled by the onboard computer with closed loop control and directly off of reading the car’s servo angle and motor’s rotational velocity. A new safety feature of a remote kill switch has been added to disable the car with a remote control.

This dev kit allows for easy access of all the electronics hardware with a single acrylic mounting plate design for quick assembly and testing. (side by side image with the Tamiya® TA07 ARC seen below.)
